Award-winning Chef Anand George - after his ground-breaking success of his debut restaurant Purple Poppadom, Cardiff - brings to you Tukka Tuk! Indian Street Food in all its vibrancy and glory to Goodsheds.

A foreword from the chef:

“Coming from Kerala, my style of cuisine is obviously influenced by my home cuisine, but Kerala is not just one style, it is a melting pot of cultures, from Syrian Christian, to Muslim, Hindu to Anglo-Indian. Working throughout India in my formative years exposed me to all kinds of Indian cuisine under the sun, and then working in London at a Michelin star restaurant, helped me fine-tune my style. I have travelled throughout India many times, for my book and other projects and am always learning about new dishes, it is a constant influence. But, if you were to pin me down, I would say my style is to create fresh modern twists on traditional Indian cuisine”. –    Anand George

Ours is a story that constantly unfolds as we explore new ingredients and combinations of tastes and flavours from South India. This combination of the traditional with the new, has always been at the heart of everything we do. We want to break the barriers that Indian Food is stuck being known as the spicy food or specials just for the curry night. Our food will never be mouth burning hot as that is not what Indian Food is all about.

It is about tingling the taste buds, a visual treat and a hint of cheeky spice…. Where best to have our very first permanent home than Goodsheds? It’s a combination of excellent food in a beautiful setting with intriguing local shops, one of a kind in Barry, and 5 minutes’ walk from the train station and the beach!

Alongside the very infamous Kerala Fried Chicken, you can also experience mouth-watering savouries created by delicately blending the southern spices in its lamb rolls. Find a variety of Bombay Frankie Rolls with the choice of fillings of Tandoori Chicken, Pulled Beef, or Paneer Tikka. Also find soft drinks, Cobra Beer, Vegan-Gluten Free Beer, G&T’s and Jäger Bombs.

We have a special Kid’s meal with chicken nuggets with fries and ketchup served with a drink and little toy.

We are already feeling the love since the humble opening in August 2020 and would love to hear about your experience so please post messages, post reviews on Google or TripAdvisor or give us a little like on Socials. We are expanding to Swansea, Cardiff and Newport.

Do give it a go as this is not your usual Indian Food, this is Tukka Tuk’s Indian Street Food.

We welcome you to join us.
