Root and Grow – Bringing Nature Back to Barry, One Houseplant at a Time. Root and Grow began as a shared dream and has turned into a passion-driven business rooted in a love for nature, sustainability, and community.
Co-founders Corey and Beck both grew up immersed in the natural world. Corey spent his childhood in the heart of the Welsh countryside, foraging with friends and exploring local woodlands and mountains. Beck’s upbringing was equally green—helping with livestock, growing and harvesting produce at her uncle’s farm, and spending weekends gardening alongside her grandparents, who cultivated everything from vibrant flowers to homegrown fruit and vegetables.
These early experiences nurtured a deep respect for nature and a love for plant life that followed them into adulthood—along with a home now filled with hundreds of thriving houseplants!
Root and Grow was born from the belief that reconnecting with nature should be easy, beautiful, and accessible to everyone. That’s why we’re proud to offer responsibly sourced, peat-free houseplants that don’t just brighten homes, but also tread lightly on the planet.
Our mission is to bring nature back into urban life—starting here in Barry. We’re especially passionate about helping the next generation fall in love with growing. Whether it’s encouraging children to spend more time outside or guiding families to cultivate their own Urban Gardens, we want to spark joy, connection, and sustainability through everything we do.
